The Rolls-Royce Cullinan entered production in 2018.
The Cullinan is Rolls-Royce Motor Cars' first production sport utility vehicle. It was unveiled in 2018 and began customer deliveries that year, expanding the marque's range beyond sedans and grand touring cars. The model uses an all-wheel-drive system and a raised body while retaining the brand's focus on luxury, quietness and hand-finished interiors.
Its name comes from the Cullinan Diamond, the largest gem-quality rough diamond ever found. That naming choice follows Rolls-Royce's tradition of giving several models names with historical or geographic associations, although the Cullinan occupies a distinct SUV category.
The Cullinan is sometimes described as simply an enlarged Phantom, but it is a separate model with its own platform, body and chassis engineering. Later versions and updates changed equipment and styling, yet 2018 remains the key year for the model's launch and production beginning.
