The Canadian television version of Dragons' Den first aired in 2006.
The Canadian series adapted the international entrepreneur-pitch format for CBC. Canadian founders present companies and ideas to a panel of investors, negotiating for money in return for an ownership stake in their businesses.
The programme is separate from the British BBC version, even though both use the Dragons' Den title and share the same broad format lineage. The Canadian panel, broadcast history and business deals belong to Canada’s own production.
The year 2006 is easy to confuse with British panel changes, because several notable British Dragons joined or left around the programme’s early period. Keeping the country attached to the question prevents those separate timelines from being mixed together.
