Kelly Hoppen joined the investor panel of the UK television series Dragon's Den in 2013.
Hoppen is an interior designer and entrepreneur whose work is associated with a distinctive style often described as East-meets-West. Her business background gave the panel expertise in design, interiors, licensing and consumer brands.
She became a Dragon during the programme's eleventh series. Her appointment is sometimes confused with later changes to the panel, particularly the arrivals of investors such as Nick Jenkins, Jenny Campbell and Sara Davies.
Hoppen did not remain a permanent Dragon for the entire history of the programme. Even so, her 2013 appointment was significant because it broadened the range of professional experience represented among the investors beyond finance, retail and property.
