Kelly Hoppen joined the BBC business show Dragon's Den as an investor in 2013.
Hoppen is an interior designer and businesswoman known for a design style often described as combining clean lines with neutral colours. Her professional background gave the panel a Dragon whose experience was rooted in design, interiors, branding and licensing rather than solely in retail or finance.
She joined the regular cast in the period after James Caan left the programme. Hoppen did not remain a permanent Dragon for the long term, but her appearance is part of the show's continuing expansion beyond its earliest investor line-up. The programme has frequently refreshed its panel as entrepreneurs and investors move on.
Kelly Hoppen is sometimes confused with Deborah Meaden because both became prominent female Dragons, but they joined in different periods and have different business backgrounds. Hoppen's career outside television includes the Kelly Hoppen brand and interior-design work for residential and commercial projects.
