In which year did J.K. Rowling publish the final Harry Potter book?

The story behind the answer

J.K. Rowling published the final Harry Potter book in 2007.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows was released on 21 July 2007. It was the seventh novel in the main series and completed the planned story of Harry Potter’s struggle against Lord Voldemort.

The book’s release became a major global publishing event. Readers queued at midnight launches, and the novel was issued simultaneously in many markets. Its publication ended the wait for the conclusion of the central series, although the fictional world continued through companion works, films, stage productions, and later projects.

The year is sometimes confused with 2005, when Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince was published, or 2016, when Harry Potter and the Cursed Child appeared as a script. Neither date marks the completion of Rowling’s seven main novels.
