In which year did James Caan first become a Dragon on the British series Dragons' Den?

The story behind the answer

James Caan first became a Dragon on the British series Dragons' Den in 2007.

Caan joined the panel after the programme's launch and became known for focusing on recruitment, property and business services. His background included founding and investing in companies, giving him experience in evaluating entrepreneurs and growth plans.

He replaced earlier investor Doug Richard and appeared alongside Dragons such as Peter Jones, Duncan Bannatyne and Deborah Meaden. Caan remained part of the regular panel until 2011.

The year is sometimes confused with the show's launch year, 2005, or with the dates of later panel changes. Caan was not one of the original five Dragons; his first series as a Dragon was the third series, broadcast in 2007.
