Interior designer Kelly Hoppen joined the investor panel on Dragon's Den in 2013.
Hoppen is a British designer known for an interiors style built around clean lines, neutral colours and a restrained use of materials. Her professional background differed from that of many Dragons whose careers were rooted mainly in retail, finance or technology. On the programme, she assessed pitches from entrepreneurs and considered whether a business matched her experience, networks and investment interests.
The year 2013 refers to her arrival on the UK panel, not to the launch of Dragon's Den itself. The show began in 2005 and has had a changing line-up over the years. Hoppen's television appearance also should not be confused with her design work or with the careers of other female Dragons, including Deborah Meaden and Sara Davies.
