Deborah Meaden joined the British Dragon's Den investment panel in 2006.
Meaden is an English businesswoman and television personality. She became one of the programme's best-known investors, recognised for a direct questioning style and for focusing closely on commercial practicality, ownership and the route to growth.
Her arrival came after the British show had already premiered in 2005. This means she was not part of the original first-series panel, although she subsequently became strongly associated with the programme and remained a familiar figure across many series.
Meaden's business background includes work in leisure and tourism, notably the family holiday business Weststar Holidays. Her career outside television helps explain why her on-screen assessments often address operating models, margins and the realities of scaling a company.
