Deborah Meaden first joined the investors on the UK series Dragon's Den in 2006.
Meaden became one of the programme's most recognisable Dragons after joining during its second series. She is an English businesswoman with experience in family businesses, leisure operations and investment, and she became known for direct questions about profitability and ownership.
Her arrival followed the opening series, so she was not part of the original five-person line-up seen when the UK programme launched in 2005. The distinction between joining the show in a particular broadcast year and appearing in a particular numbered series can cause confusion because series production and transmission do not always align perfectly.
Meaden continued to appear as a regular Dragon for many years. Her business background also helped shape the type of pitches associated with her interests, including consumer products, hospitality and leisure ventures.
