Deborah Meaden first became an investor on the British TV programme Dragons' Den in 2006.
Meaden joined the programme during its second series, following the launch of the British version in 2005. She brought experience from family businesses, leisure operations and consumer-facing companies to the investment panel.
Her television role made her widely known for evaluating pitches, negotiating equity and challenging entrepreneurs about sales, margins and business plans. She remained one of the programme’s longest-serving and most recognisable Dragons.
The year is sometimes shifted to 2005 because that was the year the British series began. However, Meaden was not part of the original launch panel; she joined in the following year. This distinction separates the programme’s start date from the date of her arrival.
