Beyoncé released Renaissance in 2022. The album came out on July 29, 2022, through Parkwood Entertainment and Columbia Records.
Renaissance is Beyoncé’s seventh studio album and the first installment of the planned three-part project known as the Renaissance trilogy. Its sound draws heavily on dance, house, disco, funk, and electronic music. The lead single, “Break My Soul,” became a major hit and introduced the album’s club-oriented direction.
The album was nominated for Album of the Year at the 65th Annual Grammy Awards and won four awards, including Best Dance/Electronic Music Album. Renaissance is sometimes described as a surprise release because Beyoncé’s 2013 self-titled album had appeared with little conventional pre-release promotion, but Renaissance was announced before its release and had a clearly public campaign.
