Assassin's Creed Origins introduced Bayek of Siwa in 2017.
Ubisoft released Origins in October 2017. The game follows Bayek, a Medjay from Siwa, and Aya as they become involved in the origins of the Hidden Ones, the organization that later develops into the Assassin Brotherhood.
Its story is set in Ptolemaic Egypt during the first century BCE, around the period of Cleopatra VII and Julius Caesar. Origins also introduced major role-playing features to the main series, including levels, equipment rarity, skill trees, and a more expansive quest structure.
The game is sometimes confused with Odyssey because both are set in the ancient Mediterranean world. Odyssey followed in 2018, while Origins is the earlier title and the one that establishes Bayek's story.
