Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood first released in 2010.
Ubisoft Montreal developed Brotherhood, and Ubisoft published it for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in November 2010. A Windows edition followed in March 2011. The game continues Ezio Auditore’s story after Assassin’s Creed II.
Its principal setting is Rome, where Ezio works to weaken the Borgia family and rebuild the Assassin Brotherhood. A major gameplay feature allows him to recruit and train new Assassins, then call them into missions as a coordinated brotherhood.
Brotherhood is sometimes mistaken for an expansion of Assassin’s Creed II because it uses the same protagonist and continues the Renaissance storyline. It was instead released as a full standalone game. It also introduced the franchise’s first competitive multiplayer mode, separate from the single-player campaign.
