In which U.S. state is the Bigfoot monster truck team headquartered?

The story behind the answer

The Bigfoot monster truck team is headquartered in Missouri.

Bigfoot’s roots are in the St. Louis area, where Bob Chandler and his wife, Marilyn, operated an off-road shop. The company first moved its headquarters to Hazelwood, Missouri, in 1984. In 2015, Bigfoot 4x4 Inc. relocated its headquarters to Pacific, Missouri, which is the team’s listed home city.

Bob Chandler began developing Bigfoot in 1975 from a Ford F-250 pickup. By 1979, the truck had major custom modifications, including military-surplus running gear, four-wheel steering, and 48-inch tires. Its growing popularity helped turn a modified pickup into one of the earliest purpose-built monster-truck operations.

The state can be confused with the locations of major events or other famous teams. Bigfoot’s headquarters are in Missouri, while Grave Digger is associated with Kill Devil Hills, North Carolina. Missouri is also central to Bigfoot’s history because the team’s original St. Louis-area workshop and both headquarters locations were there.
