Deborah Meaden first joined the UK television show Dragon's Den in series 3.
Meaden entered the den after the programme's first two series and became one of its most recognisable investors. Her business background includes leisure, retail and property, and she became known for direct questioning and detailed attention to business fundamentals.
Her arrival followed the departure of Rachel Elnaugh, one of the original investors. Meaden then remained a prominent member of the British panel for many years, appearing in far more series than most of the show's other dragons.
The series number is easy to mix up with the broadcast year because the programme began in 2005 and its third series followed soon afterwards. The relevant distinction is that Meaden joined during series 3, not the debut series.
