Deborah Meaden first became a Dragon's Den investor in series 3.
Meaden is an English businesswoman and investor who became one of the programme's most recognisable long-term dragons. Before joining television, she built experience in family businesses and developed a reputation for practical commercial judgement, especially in consumer and leisure sectors.
Her arrival followed the first two series and added a new investor to a panel that had already established the show's tone. Meaden became known for direct questions about sales, margins, ownership and realistic company valuations. Those subjects are central to the programme because entrepreneurs are not simply seeking publicity; they are offering equity in return for investment and expertise.
A common mix-up is to place Meaden in the original five-person lineup. She was not present in series 1. Her debut in series 3 makes her a later addition to the British show, even though she became one of its most enduring dragons.
