In which series did Deborah Meaden become a regular dragon on the British show Dragon's Den?

The story behind the answer

Deborah Meaden became a regular dragon on the British show Dragon's Den in series 3.

Meaden joined the programme after the first two series, replacing Rachel Elnaugh as the principal female investor on the panel. Her arrival helped establish the line-up that many viewers came to associate with the early years of the show.

Before television, Meaden built a career in business and became involved in the family holiday business Weststar Holidays. She later became its managing director and completed a management buyout before the company was sold to Alton Towers owner Vardon.

Her series-three arrival is often misremembered as part of the original 2005 panel because she became such a prominent and enduring member of the cast. The original female dragon was Rachel Elnaugh; Meaden's tenure began with the programme's third series and continued across many subsequent editions.
