In which month was Pokémon Pokopia first announced in a Nintendo Direct?

Pokémon Pokopia was first announced in September 2025 during a Nintendo Direct. The presentation introduced the game as a new Pokémon spin-off focused on building habitats and creating a peaceful life with Pokémon.

The announcement established the game's unusual premise: the player controls a Ditto imitating a human while helping restore an abandoned world. This differed from the battle-centered structure associated with many mainline Pokémon titles.

The announcement came several months before Pokopia's worldwide release in March 2026. Early descriptions emphasized crafting, construction, environmental interaction, and friendship with Pokémon. Later information added details about multiplayer, the game's various habitats, and the ability to learn moves from Pokémon encountered during the adventure.
