Baghdad is the modern-day city in which Assassin’s Creed Mirage primarily takes place.
Mirage is set in ninth-century Baghdad during the Islamic Golden Age, especially under the Abbasid Caliphate. The city is depicted as a major center of scholarship, trade, administration, and culture. Players explore districts such as the Round City, Karkh, and Abbasiyah.
The protagonist, Basim Ibn Ishaq, begins as a street thief and joins the Hidden Ones. The game follows his training and investigations as he confronts members of the Order of the Ancients.
Mirage is connected to Assassin’s Creed Valhalla because Basim is an important character in both games. However, the two titles use different historical regions: Mirage centers on Baghdad, while Valhalla focuses mainly on Viking-era England and Norway.
