Deutsche Post DHL Group is headquartered in Bonn, Germany.
The company is the successor to Germany's former state postal service, Deutsche Bundespost, which was reorganized and privatized in the 1990s. Deutsche Post AG acquired DHL in 2002, bringing the international express-delivery brand into the group. In 2015, the parent company adopted the name Deutsche Post DHL Group to emphasize both sides of its business.
Bonn is a city on the Rhine in North Rhine-Westphalia and served as West Germany's federal capital until German reunification. Although Berlin is Germany's current capital and Frankfurt is a major transportation and financial center, neither is the group's headquarters city.
The headquarters location is also distinct from the company's extensive logistics network. DHL operates hubs, sorting centers, and offices across many countries, including major facilities at airports such as Leipzig/Halle, but those operational sites are not the corporate headquarters.
