The Dragons' Den production associated with MediaCityUK is in Salford.
MediaCityUK is a large media and broadcasting development at Salford Quays in Greater Manchester. It hosts studios, offices and creative organisations, making Salford an important centre for television production outside London. Dragons' Den has been associated with production at the site, which is why Salford is the precise city answer rather than the nearby and much more internationally recognised city of Manchester.
The distinction matters geographically. Salford and Manchester are neighbouring cities in the same metropolitan area, but MediaCityUK is located in Salford. The wider area is often described informally as Manchester because it is Greater Manchester's main media hub.
MediaCityUK is also connected with the BBC and other broadcasters. Its presence helped strengthen the North West's role in British television production and made the location familiar to viewers of several programmes.
