KPMG International's headquarters is located in Amstelveen, Netherlands.
Amstelveen is a municipality directly south of Amsterdam in the province of North Holland. KPMG’s international coordinating organization is based there, while independent KPMG member firms operate in countries around the world. This structure is important because KPMG International is not simply one centrally managed audit firm with identical local operations everywhere.
KPMG is one of the “Big Four” accounting organizations, alongside Deloitte, Ernst & Young and PwC. The name KPMG comes from the initials of four historical figures associated with the firms that combined into the modern network. Its services include audit, tax and advisory work.
Amstelveen is often reported as Amsterdam because of its proximity and international recognizability. The two are separate municipalities, however. The specific headquarters answer is Amstelveen, even though the organization is commonly described informally as being in the Amsterdam metropolitan area.
