In which city is most of Assassin's Creed Mirage set?

The story behind the answer

Most of Assassin's Creed Mirage is set in Baghdad.

The game takes place in ninth-century Baghdad during the Islamic Golden Age. Players control Basim Ibn Ishaq, who begins as a street thief before joining the Hidden Ones and developing into an Assassin. The city is the central environment for his transformation and investigations.

Mirage depicts a historical Baghdad divided into districts with markets, scholars, government centers, and residential areas. Its story also connects Basim to Alamut, the mountain headquarters of the Hidden Ones, but Baghdad remains the principal setting and the place where most missions occur.

The city should not be confused with Damascus or Constantinople, which are important locations in other Assassin's Creed games. Mirage was released in 2023 and was designed as a more compact, stealth-focused experience that returns to ideas associated with the earliest entries.
