In which city does Spider-Man protect?

Spider-Man protects New York City. Peter Parker is closely associated with New York, especially Queens, where he grows up, attends school, and begins his life as a superhero.

New York is more than a backdrop in Spider-Man stories. Peter's ability to swing between skyscrapers, travel across rooftops, and respond quickly to crimes is built into the city's dense urban landscape. His adventures frequently involve recognizable locations such as Queens, Midtown Manhattan, and the Brooklyn Bridge.

Peter's home neighborhood is Forest Hills in Queens, and many stories portray him as a local hero trying to protect ordinary residents. This distinguishes Spider-Man from fictional-city heroes such as Batman, who operates in Gotham City, and Superman, who is associated with Metropolis. Film, television, and comic-book versions may alter specific locations, but New York City remains the character's canonical home.
