In which Chinese city is Tencent Holdings headquartered?

Tencent Holdings is headquartered in Shenzhen, China.

Tencent was founded in 1998 by Ma Huateng, also known as Pony Ma, and four co-founders. Its headquarters are in Shenzhen's Nanshan District, a major technology hub near Hong Kong. The company became one of China's largest internet businesses through products including QQ, WeChat, online games, digital payments, and cloud services.

Shenzhen's technology identity developed rapidly after it became China's first special economic zone in 1980. The city attracted manufacturing, telecommunications, and internet companies, helping create the environment in which Tencent expanded. Tencent's headquarters complex is associated with the company's modern technology profile.

Beijing and Shanghai are also major Chinese corporate centers. Hangzhou is especially associated with Alibaba, which is why it can be confused with Tencent's headquarters city. Tencent, however, is headquartered in Shenzhen, while its services and investments extend worldwide.
