The main Noah's Ark and Flood narratives are found in the biblical book of Genesis.
The story begins in Genesis 6 with the violence of humanity, God's decision to send the Flood, and Noah's favor with God. It continues through Genesis 7 and 8, which describe the Flood and the waters' recession, and concludes in Genesis 9 with the covenant and Noah's later life.
Genesis is the first book of both the Hebrew Bible and the Christian Old Testament. Its opening chapters contain creation, Adam and Eve, Cain and Abel, the genealogies, the Flood, and the Tower of Babel. The Ark story is therefore one episode within Genesis rather than a separate biblical book.
