Bayek begins Assassin's Creed Origins in the ancient Egyptian oasis town of Siwa.
Siwa is the home of Bayek, a Medjay, and his wife Aya. The game opens there before Bayek's investigation carries him across Ptolemaic Egypt. His personal quest develops into a broader struggle against the organization that will eventually become the Order of the Ancients.
Assassin's Creed Origins was released in 2017 and serves as an origin story for the Assassin Brotherhood. Its world includes deserts, river settlements, major cities, temples, tombs, and the Nile Valley. The game is set during the reign of Cleopatra VII and the political conflict involving Ptolemy XIII.
Alexandria and Memphis are also major Egyptian locations in Origins, which makes them frequent alternatives in quizzes. However, Siwa is specifically Bayek's starting home and the location of the opening portion of the narrative. The oasis is in Egypt's Western Desert, near the Libyan border.
