In which 2019 Disney film did Beyoncé voice Nala?

The story behind the answer

Beyoncé voiced Nala in Disney’s 2019 film The Lion King.

The film is a photorealistic computer-animated remake of Disney’s 1994 traditionally animated film. Directed by Jon Favreau, it follows Simba, a young lion who must return to reclaim his kingdom after being driven away by his uncle Scar. Beyoncé provided the speaking and singing voice for the adult Nala.

The cast also included Donald Glover as Simba, James Earl Jones as Mufasa, Chiwetel Ejiofor as Scar, and Seth Rogen as Pumbaa. Beyoncé’s performance connected her to songs including “Can You Feel the Love Tonight,” which she recorded with Glover for the film’s soundtrack.

The Lion King was released in July 2019 and became one of the year’s highest-grossing films. It is separate from Beyoncé’s 2006 acting role as Deena Jones in Dreamgirls, another major film appearance.
