In which 1975 serial did Davros first appear?
Answer
Genesis of the Daleks
Answer
Genesis of the Daleks
Davros first appeared in the 1975 Doctor Who serial “Genesis of the Daleks.” The six-part story sends the Fourth Doctor, Sarah Jane Smith, and Harry Sullivan to Skaro during the Daleks’ creation, where they meet Davros, the Kaled chief scientist responsible for designing the Daleks.
Davros is portrayed by Michael Wisher and is presented as a brilliant but authoritarian scientist whose obsession with purity and survival leads him to create the Daleks as weapons and as a new species. His chair and distinctive upper-body design became defining visual features of the character. The serial also established his ideological conflict with the Doctor, who is ordered by the Time Lords to prevent the Daleks from becoming a future threat.
The other options are later stories involving Davros or the Daleks. “Destiny of the Daleks” brought Davros back in 1979, while “Resurrection of the Daleks” and “Remembrance of the Daleks” followed in the 1980s. “Genesis of the Daleks” is therefore the canonical debut.
