Star Trek: Generations was released in 1994.
The film was the seventh Star Trek movie and the first theatrical feature centered on the cast of Star Trek: The Next Generation. It also brought William Shatner’s Captain James T. Kirk together with Patrick Stewart’s Captain Jean-Luc Picard.
Directed by David Carson, the story involves the Nexus, a mysterious energy ribbon that exists outside ordinary time. Kirk and Picard meet when Picard seeks Kirk’s help against the villain Tolian Soran.
The year can be confused with the television debut of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine in 1993 or with the release of Star Trek: First Contact in 1996. Generations occupies the transition point between the original-cast films and the later Next Generation movies.
