In what year was Jurassic World released?

The story behind the answer

Jurassic World was released in 2015.

Directed by Colin Trevorrow, the film is set decades after the disaster at the original Jurassic Park. It depicts a fully operating dinosaur theme park on Isla Nublar, where attendance has declined because visitors have become accustomed to ordinary cloned dinosaurs.

To attract attention, the park creates the genetically modified hybrid Indominus rex. Its escape drives the film’s main crisis and forces park manager Claire Dearing and animal behavior specialist Owen Grady to protect visitors and contain the threat.

Jurassic World opened in several markets in June 2015 and became a major global box-office success. It launched a new trilogy consisting of Jurassic World, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, and Jurassic World Dominion. The film’s title is distinct from the earlier Jurassic Park films and does not refer to a real park.
