In what year was Ford Motor Company incorporated?

The story behind the answer

Ford Motor Company was incorporated in 1903.

Henry Ford and 11 original investors founded the company on June 16, 1903, in Detroit, Michigan. The new business began with $28,000 in capital and initially assembled automobiles using components supplied by outside manufacturers.

Ford Motor Company is sometimes dated incorrectly to 1908, because that was the year the Model T appeared. The company itself had already been operating for five years. Its early headquarters and factory were in Detroit before production expanded to larger facilities.

The company later became one of the world’s largest automakers, producing Ford and Lincoln vehicles and operating manufacturing, financing, and mobility businesses in many countries.
