In what year did the television special Shrek the Halls first air?

The story behind the answer

The television special Shrek the Halls first aired in 2007.

The Christmas special premiered on ABC on November 28, 2007. It places Shrek, Fiona, Donkey, and their friends in a holiday story in which Shrek tries to create a perfect Christmas despite having little knowledge of the celebration.

Shrek the Halls was produced as a short-form television project rather than another theatrical feature. Its approximately half-hour format makes it separate from the main film sequence, which includes Shrek the Third in the same year. The special later became part of the franchise’s seasonal television programming and home-video releases.
