Tej Lalvani joined the BBC's Dragons' Den investor panel in 2017.
Lalvani entered the programme as a new Dragon during its fifteenth series. He was already known as the chief executive of Vitabiotics, the British company that produces vitamin and nutritional supplements. His appointment brought a younger business leader with experience in branded consumer healthcare to the panel.
Vitabiotics was founded by Lalvani's father, Kartar Lalvani, and developed products including Pregnacare and Wellwoman. Tej Lalvani became involved in expanding the company and its international commercial activities before taking the television role.
The year is easy to confuse with 2015, when Nick Jenkins and Sarah Willingham joined the panel, or with 2018, when other cast changes followed. Lalvani's Dragons' Den tenure began specifically with series 15, broadcast in 2017.
