Sara Davies first became an investor on the BBC programme Dragon's Den in 2019.
Davies joined the panel for the programme's seventeenth series. She was already known as the founder of Crafter's Companion, a company serving the craft and papercraft market. Her business background gave the panel a specialist perspective on product development, retailing and direct-to-consumer sales.
Her appointment came after the programme had already gone through numerous changes in its investor lineup. That makes the year easy to confuse with other Dragon arrivals, including the 2015 addition of a different investor. The precise distinction is that Davies entered the Den in 2019, not during the earlier mid-2010s changes.
Davies was born in County Durham and founded Crafter's Companion while studying at university. The company began with a tool designed to help make envelopes and expanded into an international craft-products business. Her television role followed that entrepreneurial career rather than preceding it.
