Izzy Stradlin left Guns N' Roses in 1991, during the band's peak period and shortly after the release of Use Your Illusion I and Use Your Illusion II. He had been the group's rhythm guitarist, backing vocalist, and one of its most important songwriters.
Stradlin played his final show as an official Guns N' Roses member on August 31, 1991, at Wembley Stadium. His departure was announced on November 7 of that year. He later cited the band's chaotic lifestyle, Axl Rose's repeated lateness, touring tensions, and his own sobriety as major reasons for leaving.
His songwriting fingerprints appear on major songs including “Sweet Child o' Mine,” “Paradise City,” “Don't Cry,” and “You Could Be Mine.” After leaving, he formed Izzy Stradlin and the Ju Ju Hounds, whose self-titled debut album arrived in 1992.
The year can be confused with 1992 because Stradlin's first Ju Ju Hounds album came out then. He also received some post-departure credit on Guns N' Roses' 1993 covers album, The Spaghetti Incident?, although he was not an active member by that point.
