In what year did Ford begin producing the Model T?

The story behind the answer

Ford began producing the Model T in 1908.

The first production Model T was completed at Ford’s Piquette Avenue Plant in Detroit in October 1908. Ford introduced the car as a practical, durable automobile designed for a broad market rather than as a luxury product.

Model T production later moved to the Highland Park Ford Plant, where Ford refined large-scale manufacturing methods. The car’s interchangeable parts and standardized design helped reduce production costs over time.

The Model T was not built continuously in exactly the same form for its entire run. Ford made numerous mechanical and body changes, including improvements to the engine, frame, and electrical system. Production ended in 1927 after more than 15 million examples had been made.
