Peter Jones has appeared as an investor on the UK version of Dragon's Den from its first series. He is the only original Dragon to remain a regular member of the panel across the programme's long television run.
Jones is a British entrepreneur and businessman whose interests have included technology, media, retail and property. On the show, he is known for examining the size of a market, the strength of a brand and the terms offered by an entrepreneur. His presence gives the programme a direct link to its original 2005 panel.
Other prominent Dragons joined later. Deborah Meaden became a Dragon in series three, while Theo Paphitis and later investors appeared during subsequent changes to the line-up. The phrase “original Dragon” can therefore be confusing: several well-known investors were early members, but they did not all appear in the first series or remain continuously.
