Peter Jones has served as a dragon on the UK television show Dragon's Den since its first series.
Jones is an entrepreneur and investor known for interests spanning technology, media, telecommunications and leisure. His continuing presence makes him the programme's longest-serving original dragon, alongside his profile as one of the show's most recognisable investors.
Dragon's Den began with a changing panel rather than a permanently fixed cast. Several early dragons, including Duncan Bannatyne, Theo Paphitis and Rachel Elnaugh, later left the programme, while newer investors joined in successive series. Jones remained a constant member of the panel.
This fact is sometimes confused with the question of who was the first dragon, or who made the first investment. Those are separate production and episode-history questions; Jones's distinction is his continuous service from the launch of the UK version.
