Peter Jones has appeared as a dragon in every UK series of Dragon's Den since the programme began.
Jones is a British entrepreneur and investor whose business interests have included mobile phones, leisure, property and technology. He joined the original BBC panel when the British version launched in 2005 and became its longest-serving dragon.
The panel has changed repeatedly. Other original investors, including Duncan Bannatyne and Rachel Elnaugh, eventually left, while Deborah Meaden, Theo Paphitis, Touker Suleyman, Sara Davies and other investors joined in later series. Jones's continued presence makes him the clearest link between the show's earliest episodes and its later line-ups.
Peter Jones is sometimes confused with the show's presenter, but they have different roles. Jones evaluates pitches and negotiates investments; the presenter introduces entrepreneurs and manages the studio conversation. His long tenure is one of the programme's most frequently cited facts.
