In the UK television show Dragon's Den, Shaun Pulfrey created the detangling hairbrush Tangle Teezer.
Pulfrey developed Tangle Teezer after working as a hair colourist and observing how conventional brushes could pull and damage tangled hair. The product used flexible teeth arranged to move through knots, forming the basis of the company’s distinctive design.
Pulfrey appeared on Dragon's Den in 2007 and did not secure an investment from the panel. Tangle Teezer later became an international beauty brand, making the pitch a familiar example of a business succeeding after leaving the programme without a deal.
Tangle Teezer is often mixed up with Trunki because both are well-known products associated with Dragon's Den pitches. Their markets are entirely different: Tangle Teezer is haircare, while Trunki is children’s travel luggage.
