Evan Davis has hosted the UK television programme Dragons' Den since its launch in 2005.
Davis is an English economist, journalist and broadcaster who joined the BBC programme at the beginning of its British run. In each episode, entrepreneurs present businesses or ideas to a panel of wealthy investors, known as Dragons, and seek funding in exchange for an ownership stake.
The presenter introduces the pitches and helps explain the negotiations, but he is not one of the investors. This is sometimes confused with the programme's Dragons, whose line-up has changed repeatedly over the years. Davis has remained associated with the main UK series while also presenting other BBC programmes, including Newsnight and The Bottom Line.
Dragons' Den is adapted from the Japanese format Money Tigers. The British version first aired on BBC Two, and Davis's presenting role has been one of its most consistent features.
