Evan Davis presented the UK show Dragon's Den from 2005 until 2015.
Davis was the programme's original presenter when it began broadcasting in 2005. He introduced entrepreneurs, explained the pitch process and guided viewers through the Dragons' negotiations. His calm presentation style contrasted with the high-pressure questioning in the pitch room.
Before and during his time on Dragon's Den, Davis was established as a BBC journalist and broadcaster, particularly in economics and current affairs. After leaving the programme, he continued presenting major BBC programmes, including Newsnight.
The presenting role is sometimes confused with the investor panel. Davis did not sit among the Dragons or invest in the businesses; his job was to host the programme. Sarah McInerney later became associated with the Irish version, while the UK edition changed presenters after Davis's departure.
