The investment panel on the UK show Dragon's Den is collectively called the Dragons.
Entrepreneurs enter the den and present their businesses to these investors, who question them about sales, valuation, margins and growth. If interested, a Dragon may make an offer in exchange for an agreed share of the company.
The term comes from the programme's title and is the British equivalent of the “sharks” label used by the related American franchise Shark Tank. Although both formats involve business investment, the UK programme uses “Dragons” consistently in its branding.
The panel is not fixed permanently. Regular investors have included Peter Jones, Deborah Meaden, Theo Paphitis, Duncan Bannatyne, Touker Suleyman and others, while guest Dragons have appeared in different series.
