In the Songkran legend, what does Nang Songkran Thungsa ride?

The story behind the answer

In the Songkran legend, Nang Songkran Thungsa rides a Garuda.

Thungsa is the daughter associated with Sunday in the traditional Songkran cycle of seven Nang Songkran figures. Each daughter has a named mount, and Thungsa’s is the Garuda, the powerful mythical bird known in Thai as krut.

The daughters appear in the annual legend surrounding Thao Kabinlaphrom and his severed head. The selected daughter carries the head in a procession around Mount Meru, with the day of Songkran determining which daughter is featured for that year.

The Garuda is a major symbol in Thai culture and is also the national emblem of Thailand. It is often depicted as a human-bird figure, so it is different from the real birds used as mounts by some other Nang Songkran figures.
