In the Quran, on which mountain is Noah’s Ark said to have come to rest?
Answer
Mount Judi
Answer
Mount Judi
In the Quran, Noah’s Ark is said to have come to rest on Mount Judi.
The detail appears in Quran 11:44, which describes the floodwaters receding and the Ark settling on al-Judi. Mount Judi is traditionally identified with a mountain in southeastern Turkey, near the borders of Syria and Iraq. The Quranic account therefore uses a different place-name from the mountain tradition most often associated with Genesis.
Mount Ararat is a common mix-up because later Jewish, Christian, Islamic, and other traditions have connected the Ark with the broader Ararat region. Genesis itself says the Ark came to rest on the “mountains of Ararat,” while the Quran names Mount Judi specifically.
The location remains a matter of religious tradition rather than an established archaeological discovery. Claims about finding the Ark have appeared repeatedly, but no discovery has been scientifically verified as Noah’s Ark.
