In Pixar’s short “Jack-Jack Attack,” the teenage babysitter is named Kari.
Kari McKeen is hired by Violet and Dash Parr to look after their baby brother, Jack-Jack, while their parents are away during the events of The Incredibles. She is confident that she can handle babysitting, but Jack-Jack’s previously hidden superpowers quickly turn the job into chaos.
Kari tries several increasingly desperate solutions, including Mozart, flashcards, an upside-down playpen, and even tying Jack-Jack to a barbell. His powers include floating, disappearing, passing through objects, setting himself on fire, and more. The situation becomes even more dangerous when Syndrome arrives and tricks Kari into thinking he is a replacement babysitter.
A common mix-up is remembering Kari only as “the babysitter.” Her full name is Kari McKeen, and she also appears briefly in The Incredibles. The short was developed from a scene originally considered for the feature film and was released in 2005 as a home-video companion.
