Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad
Answer
Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad
The main Assassin in the original Assassin's Creed is Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad.
Altaïr is a Syrian Assassin active during the Third Crusade in 1191. After a mission goes wrong, he is demoted by his mentor, Al Mualim, and must regain his rank by investigating targets across the Holy Land.
The game visits major cities including Jerusalem, Acre, and Damascus. Altaïr's story introduces the series' central conflict between the Assassins and the Templars, as well as the Animus device used to relive genetic memories.
His name is sometimes shortened to Altaïr, but “Ibn-La'Ahad” is part of his full name. The character later appears in Assassin's Creed: Revelations, which explores his later life and legacy.
