In the first UK series of Dragon's Den, who was the presenter?
Answer
Adrian Chiles
Answer
Adrian Chiles
Adrian Chiles presented the first UK series of Dragon's Den.
Chiles hosted the programme when the BBC version began in 2005. His role was different from that of the dragons: he introduced the entrepreneurs, explained the stakes and guided viewers through the negotiations, while the investors decided whether to make offers.
Evan Davis subsequently became the programme's best-known presenter and took over from Chiles for the second series. Davis remained associated with Dragon's Den for many years, helping establish the familiar interview style used between the pitches and the investment panel.
A common mix-up is to identify Davis as the original presenter because he fronted most of the show's early and middle run. The distinction matters: Chiles hosted series one, while Davis began presenting from series two. Chiles later became widely known for radio and television work, including The One Show.
