In the film, what town does Phil Connors get stuck in a time loop?

The story behind the answer

In the film, Phil Connors gets stuck in a time loop in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania.

Phil Connors is a cynical television weatherman sent from Pittsburgh to cover Punxsutawney's Groundhog Day festivities. After a blizzard strands him in town, he wakes on February 2 and discovers that the same day is repeating. Every reset returns him to the Cherry Street Inn and the same radio broadcast, regardless of what he did during the previous cycle.

Punxsutawney is a real borough in western Pennsylvania and the home of the famous Groundhog Day celebration. The film's fictional events use the town as the story's setting, but nearly all location shooting took place in Woodstock, Illinois, whose downtown streets stand in for Punxsutawney.

Philadelphia is a Pennsylvania city but not the film's setting, while Gobbler's Knob is the ceremony site rather than the whole town. Woodstock is therefore a particularly understandable wrong answer: it is where the movie was filmed, not where Phil Connors is supposed to be trapped.
